Welcome to LobbyDog.com
                        Your political watch dog”

Keeping watch over the actions & voting records of political leaders
.

Are you sick and tired of watching your “representatives” wasting your tax dollars on outrageous spending bills and special interest projects? How many times have you witnessed the political “favors” being passed out to the same people, (or companies) who’ve made major campaign contributions to the elected officials presiding over their pet projects and or their funding sources?

Our senators and congressional representatives are getting rich and lining the pockets of their families, friends and political associates with our tax dollars. This is not what we’ve hired them to do.  We elect our government representatives to do a simple job that is, “represent” us. So far, we’re getting taken advantage of by our employees. They lie, cheat, steal and arrange for exchanging political favors. The highest priority of almost every elected senator or congressman their re-election campaign. The last thing on their minds is serving the interests of the voters.

Do you feel that your best interests are being represented? Do any of your friends or family? For that matter, does anyone you know feel they have a representative in our government? If not, WHY NOT? Is it just too much to ask for?

This situation may sound hopeless but it’s not. You’ve heard all of the normal comments.  “You can’t fight city hall”. “That’s just the way it is”. Is that really just the way it is and we’re all stuck with this? Are we really that far gone? Is our country no longer under the rule “of the people and by the people”?  You might say to yourself, I’m just one person, what can I do?  Is there a logical answer?  Yes. There is still hope as long as we still have the rights of free speech and are willing to take action.

This site was formed as a platform for getting people like you involved in changing the manner in which our government employees, do their jobs. (Yes. They work for us. They are our employees, not our dictators, nor superiors. We hired them and we can fire them). You see, we have a secret weapon... THE POWER OF OUR VOTE!

Yes, it really is that simple. We have the the right to vote for who works for us. The big catch is... we must use that power in a collective manner and with a single goal in mind. Sounds nice, simple and clean right? Not so fast. There are a few minor issues in the way, such as political affiliations, family traditions, religious beliefs, abortion issues, gay rights, social agendas and the list goes on and on and on...

How do “we the people” gather our collective power to rule this country and put our will back into the government? How do we regain control? There are so many issues that divide us. It seems as though we are all on separate sides. We can never agree on anything, can we? The answer is yes!

Finding an area of agreement is really not that difficult. If we can just set aside our “politics” for a while and find the one issue that we can all agree on that needs to be addressed and move forward with a unified voice and take action to effect a change on that issue.

There’s no need to compromise our ideals, friends, families or our firmly held beliefs. We just have to care enough about the future of our country to get off of our collective duffs and come together as concerned citizens and do something. We must take action on one issue and let our votes speak as one united voice. When we stand together we speak so loudly that we cannot be ignored.

By now you must have concluded that the one issue we can all agree needs to be changed is government wasteful spending. Let’s face it. Our government is suffering from a condition that seems to be incurable, highly contagious and yet embraced by almost every elected member of congress, the senate and most of the inhabitants of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Incessant spending! They spend our money like it has no meaning and there is a never-ending supply. (Come to think of it... as long as you can either print your own money or tax it away from others, there actually is a never-ending supply).

That is a large part of the issue that goes overlooked in many conversations about government spending. Our government gets their money by taxing, (verb) it away from us. That’s it. They don’t earn it. They just spend it like it’s theirs. Doesn’t it sound reasonable that we should have some say in how our money is spent?

Our elected officials are leading this country into financial ruin. We can stop this before it’s too late! This web site is devoted to the idea that our country belongs to the people, not the government. We do have the ability to stand up to our government and to address our grievances and the right to expect them to be addressed.

If you don’t like what is happening, you have two basic choices, you can take action to change things or you can complain and grumble, hope that “somebody does something” and watch while things either stay the same or possibly get worse.

So after reading all of this “grumbling” you might ask, “just what’s the great idea”? What can we do?  Have a little patience. We’re getting there. It’s not a violent revolution or marching on Washington, (although those things have been known to work in the past).

Here’s the big secret. This is how we get things moving in the right direction. To begin, you need to get yourself registered to vote. Wow! that sounds like a revolutionary idea. This one shouldn’t be that tough since there are thousands of people around the country who get paid to try to get you to do this. Give that some though for a minute or so. We have a free right to vote and we have to spend our tax dollars begging people in front of Wal-Mart and the post office to register. On the other hand, there are those who have been known to vote many times over in a single election. Talk about your devoted citizens. (Ha Ha, a little humor - or not?).

Next, and this is where it gets a little more difficult, you need to persuade at least 20 other people who you either know or suspect are politically “inactive” (not registered, never voted, sometimes do and sometimes don’t types) to get registered to vote and be prepared to get a little involved. This doesn’t sound too difficult so far, right?

OK. Here’s the kicker. We need to take a hard look at the voting records of the senators and congressional representatives we have elected, (to do the peoples work) and if they have been voting to spend our money like a bunch of footloose “drunken sailors”, (most sincere apologies to the drunken sailors among us) they need to be voted out of office. That’s it. End of story.

So, who do we replace these fine examples of our American political system with, you might ask. ANYBODY who is running against them! Think of it this way. If we managed to oust all of our senators and replaced the entire congress, (which can’t be done in any one election) what would be the worst thing that could come from that? Well, to start, if their replacements were a bit less “professional” at accepting bribes and wasting our tax dollars on the pet projects of their financial contributors, then we would have a built-in savings to start. (It takes a little time for the sharks to infest the waters and completely corrupt the “newbies”).

If we add to this political cleansing, a new standard for holding office, say a minimum approval rating by the voters. This would help to prevent a regeneration of the same corrupt system of crooked dealings. If we voted to establish a standard of accountability by requiring an approval rating of 60% or greater prior to allowing a candidate to be even eligible to run for re-election, we could go a long way toward improving the actions of our politicians. There are so many examples of corruption in government, it has become the “normal” course of business. Enough is enough!  Our government leaders need to be held accountable to us, the citizens who they have taken office to represent!

Perhaps this sounds a bit too idealistic for you, or maybe you feel that you actually have a representative in government and you’re happy with the way things are going. If that’s the case, then doing nothing is just fine. On the other hand, if you’re among the millions of hard working Americans who are sick to death of watching our children’s (and grandchildren’s) futures being flushed down the toilet with one useless government spending program after another, then this is your call to action.

We the People of this country, do have a say in how our government works and we do have a choice in who we hire to represent our interests. We simply have to come together on a common issue in order for our voices to be heard.

THAT IS THE OBJECTIVE IN ESTABLISHING THIS WEB SITE.

We shall continue our efforts to get this message out!
We look forward to your comments and ideas.
Together, we can regain control of our government!
